As your constituent, I demand that you reject H.R. 9218, the “Defining Male and Female Act”. In its fervent push to reject “transgender ideology”, this bill threatens the freedoms of American women everywhere, of every color, creed, and profession. It declares that men and women, as legal, social, and biological categories, are permanently separate and non-interchangeable due to physical differences. What a man is, a woman cannot be, and vice versa. This gives future lawmakers the grounds to separate women from men everywhere. A woman’s right to work, to manage her finances, even her ability to own herself - these cornerstones of contemporary life could be stripped away under the grounds of it not being a woman’s biological role. If we are to maintain our position as a free country, we cannot restrict our citizens’ right to self-determination. This includes not forcing them into a specific way of being because of their sex. I implore you: vote NO on HR 9218!
