I’m the parent of an autistic child, and I’m alarmed by the President’s layoffs and cuts to the U.S. Dept. of Education during this shutdown. These actions threaten IDEA oversight and put my daughter Nova’s education and legal protections at risk. Disabled students can’t afford to lose federal accountability. Please act now to restore staffing, protect special-education funding, and stop using shutdowns to dismantle disability rights. Our kids’ futures depend on it
