Vote no on the SAVE Act. This bill wastes time targeting transgender people and creating barriers to voting instead of addressing the real problems facing your constituents. Americans need solutions to rising healthcare costs, gun violence, and environmental pollution. We need protection from voter suppression and racism. Instead, the SAVE Act criminalizes gender-affirming care with federal penalties, bars transgender girls from school sports, and makes it harder for citizens to vote by requiring documentary proof of citizenship and restricting mail voting. Non-citizen voting is already illegal and extremely rare. This bill solves nothing. Transgender people are not a threat to anyone. They deserve the same rights and dignity as every other American. Creating federal criminal penalties for their healthcare and excluding kids from sports teams is cruel policy that makes no one's life better. Your constituents need you focused on lowering costs, protecting our environment, and expanding opportunity for everyone. The SAVE Act does the opposite by suppressing votes and targeting vulnerable people. Focus on legislation that actually improves lives for the majority of citizens. Reject this bill.
