I’m writing to you today to ask you to add the appropriate limits on ICE in the next appropriations bill. ICE should not be armed with guns. There’s no reason for it. If they’re ever actually attacked, they could readily summon state or local police to protect them. ICE agents prowling our streets in unmarked cars, wearing masks, clad in body armor and carrying rifles are a clear provocation to violence.
The bill must restrict ICE and Border Patrols ability to conduct dragnet arrest operations and target people based on their race, language or accent. Additionally, the bill needs to clarify that ICE agents are liable under civil and criminal law if they harm civilians.
As a part of any appropriations bill you must add the needed language to reign ICE as they are not above the law. You must not vote to approve any bill that does not include these items.
