I am writing today to express my grave concerns for what the Trump Administration is doing to our nation's protected areas such as Bears Ears/Grand Staircase Escalante National Monuments. These lands were legally set aside to protect and preserve them for future generations, while providing recreation opportunities to the public and economic benefits to the surrounding communities. The recklessness of this administration in attempting to roll back these protections in order to allow the lands to be exploited for minerals and other extractive industries is unconscionable. Please use your checks and balances to put a stop to these practices. Americans are watching!
