I’m writing in the hopes that you’ll urge Chief Manger of the Capitol Police to invoke emergency powers and activate the National Guard to remove DOGE before it destroys any more Federal agencies. The announcement on Tax Day that 22,000 more IRS employees are being pushed out is just too much. Nothing is going to change until we, citizens and representatives and institutions alike, rise up and fight back against the Trumpist coup. Their lawless marauding has only gotten worse and this isn’t going to get any better until their push finally comes to our shove. The one way the legislative branch can still make use of its show of force is to intercept a DOGE raid, detain the perpetrators in holding cells under the Capitol, and have the National Guard already activated to assist the Capitol Police before Trump can try to misuse them. I don’t have an endgame here but surely holding DOGE and charging them with relevant crimes would be enough to shift the balance of power before it’s too late and things are too far gone. Again, we should have used the 25th Amendment months ago, but it’s still relevant for as long as Trump continues to prove himself constitutionally unfit to hold office.
