Stop Waste: Trump needs to RTO - no more golf/NASCAR/Super Bowl/Maralago trips

To: Sen. Murray, Sen. Cantwell, Rep. Randall

From: A constituent in Tacoma, WA

February 22

I am writing to you to express concerns about the spending by the executive office, specifically the White House and secret service. Congressionally appropriated funds are protected by the Anti-Deficiency Act (ADA). The ADA is a U.S. federal law that prohibits government agencies from spending more money than Congress has appropriated. It is designed to ensure fiscal responsibility and accountability in federal spending. However, under the current administration, Trump has shown no concern about accountability and fiscal responsibility. While we may not have exact figures, based on previous investigations we know that his Maralago trips cost the taxpayers approximately $3M/trip. In the month he has been back in office, he has had 3 trips so far costing us at least $9M. His golf outings since being back in office has totaled 9 trips or approximately 30% of his second term and has cost the federal taxpayers an estimated $10.7M His Super Bowl trip cost an estimated $20M. His NASCAR appearance cost the taxpayers an estimated $5M. In only a month, Trump has cost federal taxpayers $45M for unnecessary outings and yet he claims to be concerned about federal spending. Maybe instead of going to sporting events and Maralago , he needs to take a Federal Appropriations class and lead by example for his Return to Office executive order. Secret service will certainly run out of appropriated funds if Trumps behavior continues. Which would trigger an ADA. Who will be held accountable? When will congress hold Trump and his administration accountable for their fraud, waste and abuse?!
