It is imperative that CONGRESS pass legislation protecting our environment. This used to be the purview of the EPA, which has been gutted under the Trump administration. According to an article on npr.org today (Jan 28, 2026) The Trump administration has secretly rolled back nuclear safety directives in order to push through new experimental nuclear power reactors. Among other things, the relaxed restrictions no longer adequately protect groundwater. There is no gray area when it comes to protecting groundwater from nuclear waste. The only adequate protection is ZERO contamination. Radioactive groundwater DOES PERMANENT IRREVERSIBLE HARM to a resource humans can’t live without. Without proper oversight, there’s nothing to keep these UNRESTRICTED, SECRET, RUSHED nuclear plants from paying for AI with human lives. It’s unacceptable at every level. The lack of transparency is appalling. It smacks of corruption and incompetence and it becomes clearer everyday that this government doesn’t care about the American people in any way.
