I am writing as a constituent who is deeply alarmed by the killing of Renee Nicole Good by an ICE agent and by the administration’s response.
No federal agent is above the law. When a person is killed by government force, there must be a fair, transparent, and independent investigation. Declaring the shooter innocent and smearing the victim before an investigation is complete undermines the rule of law and public trust.
Even if Renee made a mistake, failing to comply with an order is not a capital offense. There is no circumstance in which summary execution by a federal agent is acceptable in America.
I urge you to demand an independent investigation that includes state authorities, reject claims of blanket immunity for federal agents, support criminal charges if the evidence warrants them, and require meaningful peace de escalation and use of force training for ICE.
I am scared for the future of this country if accountability no longer applies to those with power. Please stand for the rule of law, human dignity, and justice.
