Renee Nicole Good was a 37-year-old mother, poet, and U.S. citizen shot in the head by an ICE agent on January 7 in Minneapolis. She had just dropped her six-year-old son at school. Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara confirmed there was nothing to indicate Good “was the target of any law enforcement investigation or activity.” Video shows her vehicle partially blocking a snow-covered street when agents surrounded her car. As she tried to drive away, an agent fired at least two shots into her vehicle, killing her. Trump claimed Good “violently, willfully, and viciously ran over” an ICE officer. Secretary Kristi Noem called it “an act of domestic terrorism.” The video contradicts both claims. The agent who shot Good walked away without apparent injury. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey watched the footage and called federal self-defense claims “bulls**t.”
Your constituents deserve accountability when federal agents kill Americans based on lies. Governor Tim Walz warned against believing what he called a “propaganda machine.” House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries called Noem “a stone-cold liar” and demanded the agent be “criminally investigated for acting with depraved indifference to human life.” Chief O’Hara warned the day before that someone could get hurt or killed because of how federal operations were being conducted. Good’s mother said her daughter was “loving, forgiving and affectionate” and denied she was part of any protest. The FBI has been infiltrated by Trump loyalists and can no longer be trusted as an unbiased investigator. Demand a transparent investigation led by independent state authorities. Demand criminal prosecution of the agent who killed Renee Nicole Good. Stand against an administration that slanders murdered Americans to justify violence.
