The Supreme Court got this one right. The 6–3 ruling striking down Trump's executive order on birthright citizenship upholds what the Fourteenth Amendment has guaranteed for over 150 years: if you're born on American soil, you're an American citizen. That's not a loophole. That's the law. Reject any effort to amend the Constitution and strip that guarantee away.
The push for a constitutional amendment from Senator Eric Schmitt, Speaker Mike Johnson, and the Heritage Foundation is a direct attack on a foundational American principle. Justice Kavanaugh's concurring opinion also handed Congress a legislative roadmap to carve out exceptions for children born to undocumented or temporarily present parents — and that path is just as dangerous. I'm asking you to oppose both routes: no constitutional amendment, and no statutory changes that undermine birthright citizenship by the back door.
