Oppose Forced Relocation of Palestinians to Libya
I am writing to urge you to take immediate action to oppose any U.S.-backed plans to forcibly relocate Palestinians from Gaza or elsewhere to Libya. Reports indicate that the Trump administration has considered moving up to one million Palestinians to Libya, a move widely recognized as ethnic cleansing and a violation of international law. Such forced displacement would not only constitute a grave human rights abuse, but also risk destabilizing Libya-a country already suffering from conflict-while enabling human trafficking and further violence.
This proposal, reportedly discussed with Libyan leadership, would free up land for other interests and create a humanitarian crisis, potentially triggering a mass migration wave toward Europe.
Furthermore, it would empower warlords such as Khalifa Haftar, a U.S. citizen and former CIA asset, who has a history of acting against the UN-backed Libyan government.
I urge you to:
• Publicly condemn any plans to forcibly relocate Palestinians to Libya or any other country.
• Support legislative measures to prevent U.S. involvement in or support for such forced displacement.
• Advocate for protection of Palestinian rights under international law and for genuine diplomatic solutions to the conflict.
The United States must not be complicit in or supportive of ethnic cleansing or human trafficking. Please act now to uphold human rights and international law.
