Vote for an ARMS EMBARGO

To: Sen. Stabenow, Sen. Peters, Rep. Dingell

From: A constituent in Canton, MI

October 22

A documentary, featured on Democracy Now, details the deliberate targeting of civilian areas, the widespread use of banned weaponry, and the systematic destruction of vital infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, and shelters. The evidence is irrefutable: these actions are not accidents of war but calculated measures that amount to war crimes under international law. As the documentary reveals, Israeli forces have committed these atrocities with impunity, fully aware that their actions constitute violations of human rights and the Geneva Conventions. They have consistently targeted medical facilities, ambulances, and even children. There are scenes of bodies burned beyond recognition, further confirming the use of incendiary weapons. Entire families have been wiped out, with no safe place left for civilians to shelter. This deliberate targeting of civilian life is an attempt to terrorize an entire population into submission, a tactic that the world cannot ignore any longer. The U.S. Senate will hold the first vote in history to directly block weapons to Israel. Senators Bernie Sanders, Peter Welch, and Jeff Merkley have introduced six Joint Resolutions of Disapproval to halt a $20 billion weapons deal approved by the Biden administration. The vast majority of American voters disapprove of our money being used to kill innocent babies, children, elderly, women, and men. As your constituent, I urge you to: • Cosponsor and vote YES on all six Joint Resolutions of Disapproval to block the $20 billion weapons deal to Israel • Support an IMMEDIATE arms embargo to halt all U.S. weapons to Israel and enforce U.S. law • Cosponsor and vote YES on H.R. 9649 to restore funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) for life-saving aid. This is not just a matter of foreign policy; it is a question of who we are as a nation. Do we stand for human rights, or do we stand with those who obliterate them? The choice is clear. Support for Israel’s actions is not in the interest of your constituents, the country, or the world. Continuing down this path of complicity will stain the reputation of the United States for generations.
