The recent events at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have left me deeply concerned about the future of public health in our nation. The firing of CDC Director Dr. Susan Monarez and the resignations of three top CDC experts on infectious diseases are alarming signs of a dangerous shift in our approach to public health under the leadership of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
As your constituent, I urge you to take immediate action to remove Robert F. Kennedy Jr. from his position as Secretary of Health and Human Services. His promotion of dangerous conspiracies and misinformation, particularly regarding vaccines, poses a severe threat to public health and undermines the critical work of our nation's leading health institutions.
The resignation letter of Dr. Demetre Daskalakis, one of the top CDC experts who stepped down, warns explicitly about the dangers of RFK Jr.'s agenda. This is not merely a difference of opinion; it's a matter of scientific consensus versus harmful pseudoscience. RFK Jr.'s actions have already begun to erode years of progress in fighting various diseases and implementing crucial public health initiatives.
Furthermore, I have reason to believe that RFK Jr. may have lied under oath during his confirmation hearing. This alleged perjury, combined with his dangerous policy decisions, makes his continued tenure as HHS Secretary untenable. The health and safety of all Americans are at stake.
We cannot afford to wait. Every day that RFK Jr. remains in office, he puts more lives at risk by undermining public trust in vaccines and other essential public health measures. I implore you to act swiftly and decisively. Call for an immediate investigation into RFK Jr.'s conduct and push for his removal from office. Our nation's health depends on restoring competent, science-based leadership to the Department of Health and Human Services.
