I am writing to ask that my Congresspeople are louder in their efforts to demand an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. A ceasefire--not just a pause--is the only way to get enough humanitarian aid into the country to stop the horrific starvation of children. And our congresspeople need to loudly and clearly demand that the US stops using taxpayer dollars to send weapons to Israel. While Israel has a right to defend itself--and antisemitism is a real and grave threat--the people of Gaza have suffered enough in Israel's quest to erad icate Hamas. This has gone too far. The US has the power to force a meaningful ceasefire by refusing to fund Israel's defense. This needs to happen. Now. Save the children--that's what matters.
