As your constituent I urge you to take preventative actions against a future pandemic. The bird flu has infected 66 humans across the country, been found in dairy cows in California, and in wild birds in Vermont; a state that many Bay Staters frequent or interact with its residents. These risks combined in addition to growing anti-science rhetoric, skepticism, and the possible appointment of RFK Jr. to the office of Secretary of Health and Human Services are a perfect storm for another disaster. Our communities are still recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic another one would be disastrous. I recognize you are not in a position to address federal policy and problems but I ask that you fortify our state against public health threats, including but not limited to Bird Flu, and take these risks seriously. I urge collaboration with our neighbors of Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, and New York. We are stronger together.
