Congress must leave endangered species alone and stop persecuting predators! As your constituent, this is my number one voting issue, and I will be watching your voting record on this very closely. Let the scientists at NOAA and USFWS do their jobs protecting vulnerable species and using scientific evidence for management and delisting actions. The ecosystems we rely on for the valuable natural resources we need for our daily lives and the economic benefits that our public lands provide to surrounding communities hinge upon the success of the very endangered animals that congressional republicans and the ranching lobby aim to delist and destroy. Wolves are incredibly important to the success of the greater Yellowstone ecosystem and the health of elk and moose stocks in western and midwestern states. Further, non-lethal methods for preventing livestock predation by wolves have shown to be 91% more effective than lethal methods on average (up to 100% with some methods). Ranchers knew wolves were returning and had decades to prepare strategies to protect their livestock. Instead, they sat on their hands and now have the audacity to blame a wild animal for attacking what it considers its natural prey. Don't reward this selfish and senseless behavior by sanctioning a wasteful and inhumane war on endangered species. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
