On June 12, 2025, ICE arrested Sayed Naser—an Afghan interpreter who served U.S. troops in a dangerous Afghan region for three years—immediately after his asylum hearing in San Diego. He entered legally via CBP One in 2024 and is applying for a Special Immigrant Visa. His brother already received asylum; Naser has no criminal record and faces nebulous “improvidently issued” charges.
These interpreters risked their lives and lost family supporting U.S. forces. As an Army Veteran, I’m disgusted by how the U.S. is betraying them. This threatens our credibility and moral obligation.
Demand:
• Immediate release of Naser
• Ban on ICE arrests at courthouses
• Procedural safeguards for Special Immigrant Visa applicants
Checkpoint: Will you call for a congressional oversight hearing?
