As your constituent, I urge you to oppose any increased funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or Border Patrol.
There is no funding crisis and no emergency that requires taxpayers to give $70 billion more to agencies like ICE and CBP entities that are already operating with virtually no accountability. Our taxpayer dollars shouldn’t be funding Trump’s cruel and unpopular deportation agenda while families across the country struggle with the affordability crisis.
Last year’s reconciliation bill already gave DHS $191 billion, including $75 billion for ICE and $65 billion for CBP, the largest immigration-enforcement funding surge in American history. More than $100 billion of that funding remains unspent. Americans want Congress focused on lowering costs and helping working families, not writing blank checks for ICE and CBP.
I urge you to reject any additional funding for ICE or Border Patrol and oppose any reconciliation bill that expands Trump’s mass detention and deportation agenda.
