Promoting respectful dialogue on policies affecting disabled communities

To: Sen. McCormick, Sen. Fetterman, Pres. Trump, Rep. Perry

From: A constituent in York, PA

May 15

The asset limit for individuals receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits is too low and should be increased or removed entirely. This outdated policy unjustly penalizes disabled people for attempting to save money, leaving them in a cycle of poverty. To promote financial stability and independence, Congress must reform these counterproductive regulations that hinder the economic security of Americans with disabilities.
