Many companies engage in the deceptive practice of posting “ghost jobs:” positions they have no intention of filling.
They do this for a variety of reasons, including to give the appearance of growth and seem more attractive to investors.
If deceiving investors weren’t bad enough, these “ghost job” postings also waste time and resources for job applicants and cause them extra stress when trying to find their next job.
Posting a job with no intention of hiring someone to fill the position should be treated like false advertising and carry a fine based on a combination of the company’s cash flow, how long the “ghost job” posting remained/remains open, and the number of applicants deceived.
Thank you.
