I am a family medicine physician who has been working in Bangor since the COVID pandemic. I urge you to not confirm Robert F. Kennedy Jr to the Secretary of Health and Human Services position. The role requires not just a basic understanding of public health and the health needs of the public, but is management of a massive organization and a substantial portion of the federal budget and he’s clearly inexperienced and unqualified for such a role. His open anti-vaccine positions are alarming and as someone who worked on the front lines of the pandemic in Maine I’m genuinely worried he will undermine the state and nation’s health despite his claims that he will make America healthy. His ideas are frankly dangerous and get people hurt. I urge you to vote against his confirmation and to ask president-elect Trump to find a better candidate. Thank you.
