Veterans affairs

To: Sen. Slotkin, Rep. Barrett, Sen. Peters

From: A constituent in Mason, MI

January 25

Dear Senator Slotkin and Representative Barrett, You both built your public identities around service, national security, and care for those who serve this country. Alex Pretti was a VA ICU nurse. He spent his career caring for veterans. He believed in the dignity of service and the responsibility we owe one another as citizens. He was killed by federal agents, and the government lied about it. If your commitment to veterans and public service is sincere, then his death should demand your loudest response, not your silence. I am calling for the impeachment of the president and the entire cabinet and for criminal charges to be pursued for abuses of power and betrayal of public trust. These are constitutional mechanisms. Refusing to use them is not caution. It is complicity. You understand the historical trajectory of governments that normalize state violence and excuse dishonesty from leadership. You were trained to recognize it. You were elected to resist it. There is no excuse left. Do your job.
