No triumphal arch! We don't build monuments to living presidents or commit eternal flames to them. Trump can tapdance around semantics, but this is a clear effort to use our tax dollars to create a cumbersome, ugly, inappropriate monument to himself, overshadowing Arlington National Cemetery and falsely ensconcing himself as heroic and worthy of a memorial on par with Lincoln, Jefferson, and Washington. This is obscene. Congress must intercede and prevent this perverse mockery of US traditions and basic decency.
