Appoint an independent special counsel to investigate Donald Trump's alleged involvement in Jeffrey Epstein's sex-trafficking operation and the Justice Department's handling of the evidence.
The House Judiciary Committee's 53-page report documents five women who directly accuse Trump of rape or sexual assault in circumstances involving Epstein, along with six additional accounts establishing a pattern of coordinated exploitation through beauty pageants and modeling agencies. The report also reproduces a 2009 legal communication recording Trump himself saying Epstein was never asked to leave Mar-a-Lago, directly contradicting Trump's repeated public claims. That is not a partisan interpretation. That is a document.
The case for a special counsel is not just about what happened in the 1990s. Attorney General Todd Blanche, Trump's former personal defense attorney, conducted the July 2025 interview with Ghislaine Maxwell and repeatedly cut her off when she attempted to discuss a survivor who had testified at Maxwell's criminal trial. A Justice Department led by the president's former personal lawyer cannot credibly investigate allegations against that same president. An independent special counsel must have full access to the FBI files, the authority to interview witnesses, and the power to examine DOJ's own conduct in this case.
