As an American Jew and a constituent deeply committed to justice and human rights, I am writing to express my profound outrage and heartbreak over the ongoing treatment of Palestinians in Gaza by the Israeli government. The deliberate obstruction of food, water, and humanitarian aid to a starving civilian population is not only inhumane—it is a moral and legal crisis.
The United States cannot continue to offer unconditional support to a government that violates basic human decency and international law. As someone who has been taught that “never again” must mean never again for anyone, I find it unconscionable that our government enables the suffering of millions through military aid without enforceable conditions.
I urge you to take the following immediate actions:
• Publicly denounce the Israeli government’s obstruction of humanitarian aid and attacks on civilians.
• Place targeted sanctions on Israeli officials and military units involved in human rights violations.
• Suspend all military assistance until Israel allows full and unimpeded humanitarian access and complies with international law.
This is not a question of being “pro-Israel” or “pro-Palestinian”—this is about being pro-humanity. The collective punishment of civilians, especially the mass starvation of children, cannot be tolerated or rationalized.
As a Jewish American, I want my elected officials to know: silence is complicity. Our values, our tax dollars, and our name must not be used to perpetuate this violence
