As a constituent, I am urging you to oppose SNAP waivers being offered by Secretary Brooke Rollins and Secretary RFK Jr. Approving these waivers and setting them into SNAP requirements would be more costly for retailers, recipients, farmers, ranchers, and people who work with food, creating more red tape than benefits. This will not stop obesity. It would be better to reinstate hour-long recess periods in schools, having longer gym sessions and more outdoor activities for kids, and for adults there should be rewards for making conscious health choices, not restrictions on what they can eat or drink. We have anti-obesity medicines. What we need is better and more affordable healthcare, not punishments.
