Invoke the 25th Amendment to Remove President Trump

To: Rep. Burchett, Sen. Blackburn, Sen. Hagerty

From: A constituent in Knoxville, TN

April 7

I am calling on you to support invoking Section 4 of the 25th Amendment to immediately remove President Trump from office. His April 7 threat that "a whole civilization will die tonight" and his Easter Sunday post threatening to blow up Iranian infrastructure demonstrate he is unable to discharge the duties of the presidency. Former GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, once a close Trump ally, called for the 25th Amendment on April 7, stating "Not a single bomb has dropped on America. We cannot kill an entire civilization. This is evil and madness." The NAACP made its first-ever call for the amendment's use, with President Derrick Johnson declaring Trump "unfit, unwell, and unhinged." The vice president and Cabinet majority can declare the president unable to serve through written declaration to Congress. If Trump contests it, Congress must decide within 21 days. This is not about policy disagreements. Threatening to annihilate an entire civilization crosses the line from poor judgment to dangerous incapacity. The 25th Amendment exists for exactly this scenario. Use it now before more damage is done.
