I am writing to encourage you to continue the fight against abuses by ICE and CBP, especially in Minnesota but everywhere they are operating. Do not allow any funding or authorization for DHS and its vile, unConstitutional activities. Hundreds of people are being detained, and we know that the conditions they are held in are terrible. Many detainees are being held for NO REASON other than that they were caught up in a raid or sweep. They have done nothing wrong. Their families are ripped apart. We also know that the courts are overwhelmed in MN and that court orders to release detainees are not being followed. This is a terrifying situation. Any of us could be one of these detainees. Being a citizen does not protect anyone from these monstrous practices. Please, stand strong, and hold the line in Congress. No more funding or authorization for DHS until specific demands are met for lawful behavior by law enforcement.
