Stop Trump’s Plan to Traffic Civilians to a Foreign Gulag

To: Rep. Johnson, Sen. Ossoff, Sen. Warnock

From: A constituent in Atlanta, GA

April 16

The Trump administration's plan to deport U.S. citizens and immigrants with no due process to prisons in foreign countries is a blatant violation of constitutional rights and human rights. Forcibly sending people to the Salvadoran gulag, as proposed for the innocent Maryland resident Kilmar Abrego Garcia, is unethical, inhumane and illegal. This terrifying practice opens the door for the administration to target any group they deem "undesirable" and dispose of them without any legal recourse. This unconstitutional deportation scheme must be shut down immediately. I urge you to take concrete actions to prevent these human rights abuses and uphold the rule of law. Speak out forcefully against this policy, demand an end to all unlawful detentions and renditions of civilians to foreign prisons, and hold the administration accountable by pursuing impeachment for officials involved in defying court orders and violating due process. Failure to act decisively will only embolden further authoritarian overreach by this administration against American citizens and human rights.
