I urge you to investigate and prosecute private detention centers where sexual abuse, exploitation, or unsafe conditions occur, including facilities housing minors such as the “Blue Butterfly Room.” All individuals, especially minors, must be protected from sexual abuse, assault, and coercion in these facilities. Private operators should face full accountability under the law, and victims must have access to justice and support. Congress must ensure private detention centers cannot operate with impunity and must protect the most vulnerable.
