A government that starts compiling lists of marginalized people has already crossed a line it should never approach. A registry of transgender residents is not policy—it is intimidation, surveillance, and a direct threat to people’s safety. There is no legitimate purpose for this. It will not solve a single real problem. It exists to single out a small, vulnerable group and mark them for scrutiny, stigma, and potential harm. That is an abuse of power, full stop. Tennessee does not need to repeat the ugliest patterns of history to prove a point. Kill this idea now, completely and publicly.
