Keep ban on gun modifications, don't let Bondi undo regulation!

To: Rep. Bonamici, Sen. Merkley, Sen. Wyden

The decision to legalize forced-reset triggers, which effectively allow semi-automatic rifles to fire like machine guns, is deeply concerning and will likely lead to increased gun violence. While the administration claims this will "enhance public safety," gun control advocates rightly warn that lives will be lost as a result. Unrestricted access to accessories that dramatically increase a weapon's firing rate seems to run counter to common-sense gun regulations aimed at reducing mass shootings and gun deaths. I urge you to reconsider this policy reversal and reinstate the ban on forced-reset triggers and similar devices that undermine existing prohibitions on civilian ownership of machine guns. Protecting public safety should be the top priority.
