Choose New Leadership for Speaker of the House
To: Rep. Figures
From: A constituent in Montgomery, AL
November 5
First of all, I want to congratulate you on your victory. They tried to gerrymander and still couldn’t keep us down, and I’m deeply proud of Alabama’s 2nd District.
As your constituent, I urge you to vote against Hakeem Jeffries for Speaker of the House in January 2027 and support a different candidate. I also do not support Cory Booker or Chuck Schumer for that position.
I want leadership that reflects the priorities of voters, including those who believe the Democratic Party needs a meaningful change in direction. The Speaker nomination should be an open, accountable decision and not an automatic promotion based on seniority or establishment support.
Before committing your vote, i ask that you please closely examine each candidate’s legislative record, policy positions, campaign financing, and leadership. I think many constituents want a different choice.
I want a Speaker who will defend reproductive freedom, protect children from gun violence, address the cost of living, and uphold democratic institutions. These priorities require effective leadership, clear commitments, and the willingness to deliver results.
Please encourage other candidates to step forward and give them serious consideration. Voters deserve a meaningful discussion about who should lead the House.
