I urge you to publicly affirm that you will protect the people of North Carolina and oppose any unlawful deployment of active-duty military forces against civilians in our state. Please state whether you will refuse to federalize the National Guard without lawful cause, and what steps your office will take to safeguard civil liberties and public safety.
