Protect Tennessee Education: Oppose Abolishing Department of Education

To: Rep. Leatherwood, Sen. Rose, Gov. Lee

From: A constituent in Bartlett, TN

February 4

The abrupt elimination of the Department of Education poses a severe risk to Tennessee's school system and its ability to provide quality education. Federal funding and oversight programs play a crucial role in supporting disadvantaged students, ensuring equal access to education, and maintaining educational standards across the state. Without the Department's oversight and resources, Tennessee risks falling behind in academic achievement and failing to meet the needs of all students, particularly those from low-income families or with disabilities. This reckless move disregards the well-being of Tennessee's children and their future prospects. I urge you to oppose any efforts to abolish the Department of Education, as it would severely undermine our state's commitment to providing every child with a fair chance at success through access to quality education. Prioritize the interests of Tennessee's students over partisan politics.
