Fascism cannot rise in the US again. Trump should’ve been disqualified before 2015. Fox News must be stopped. Trump has obstructed Justice for campaigning to escape sentencing. Less widely discussed ways to protect democracy from recent history are: 1. Immunity Reform for Federal Officials: Limit and clarify immunities for presidents and high-ranking officials, ensuring they can be held accountable for criminal acts committed during their tenure. The Supreme Court members who gave him immunity should be dismissed immediately. 2. Civic Office Oath Standards: Strengthen and enforce the constitutional oath taken by public officials, making willful subversion of democratic processes grounds for disqualification and removal. News should be a type of public office that takes an oath so that Fox News cannot claim that they are merely “entertainment” while undermining democracy. 3. Public Service Eligibility: Require candidates to pass civics tests on constitutional principles and democratic norms, ensuring baseline knowledge and commitment to democratic values. 4. Congressional Oversight Expansion: Give Congress more direct investigative powers into potential abuses of executive power, with enforceable timelines and penalties for noncompliance. Make public tax records a requirement for holding office. 5. Rapid-Response Judicial Panels: Create special judicial panels that can quickly address and issue rulings on election-related disinformation or constitutional violations by public officials, especially close to elections. If they are part of the federalist society or Opus Dei and the like, they should be disqualified. If they hold god above the constitution they should be disqualified. 6. Expansion of Anti-Militia Laws: Enhance laws targeting domestic paramilitary groups and militias that could potentially interfere with democratic processes, empowering local and federal law enforcement to prevent organized intimidation. MAGA/truth social = neo nazis. Hold them accountable. Give extremists 5150s until they realize what they’ve done. 7. Federal Data Bank on Political Extremism: Establish a nonpartisan data bank to track political extremism among public figures, public officials and candidates, focusing on those with ties to anti-democratic movements. Project 2025 and MAGA must never happen again. 8. Enhanced Civic Reparations: Mandate public correction efforts funded by convicted or proven disinformation spreaders, to address misinformation they created that endangers public trust if the person refuses to correct themself. Public figures spewing dangerous rhetoric should be fined proportionately to their wealth bracket. Bezos/Musk & the like would pay infinitely more than someone in the lower class. This also helps the economy. These ideas directly safeguard against anti-democratic behavior and are especially effective with existing reforms. Leaders must never endanger the integrity of our constitution ever again and must be accountable.
