DEFEND INDIVIDUAL SOVEREIGNTY: End Pre-Crime and Political Targeting

To: Sen. Slotkin, Rep. Bergman, Sen. Peters

From: A constituent in Beulah, MI

April 8

I am writing to demand the immediate termination of federal "pre-crime" programs and an end to any detention practices that bypass the judicial process. As sovereign individuals, the people of this nation are protected by the Fifth Amendment, which guarantees that no one shall be deprived of liberty without due process of law. "Pre-crime" initiatives—which seek to arrest or surveil individuals based on proactive "threat assessments" rather than evidence of a crime—are a fundamental violation of this right and the presumption of innocence. Furthermore, I demand strict legal consequences and personal liability for any official or agency head who uses these powers for political reasons or retribution. The weaponization of law enforcement to target political dissent is an act of tyranny. I urge you to use your oversight authority to: 1 Defund any agency operations that lack clear judicial warrants and probable cause. 2 Pass legislation ensuring federal agents are held civilly and criminally liable for violating constitutional rights. 3 Fully protect the writ of habeas corpus against executive overreach.
