Vote NO on SB 132 – Protect Patient Access to CBD with THC
To: Rep. Reynolds, Sen. Givhan
From: A constituent in Meridianville, AL
February 18, 2025
I am writing to strongly urge you to vote NO on SB 132, which seeks to ban CBD products containing THC in Alabama. As a resident of this state and a patient living with Parkinson’s disease, I rely on CBD with THC for symptom relief, improved quality of life, and daily functioning.
For many Parkinson’s patients like me, these products help alleviate tremors, muscle stiffness, and anxiety—symptoms that significantly impact our ability to live independently. Unlike many pharmaceutical medications that often come with severe side effects, CBD with THC provides natural, effective relief that allows me to maintain a better quality of life.
Banning these products would take away a safe, doctor-supported treatment option that so many patients depend on. It would force individuals to either suffer unnecessarily or seek out unregulated and potentially unsafe alternatives. Alabama should be expanding access to medical relief, not restricting it.
I urge you to listen to patients, caregivers, and medical professionals who support keeping these products accessible. Please vote NO on SB 132 and protect the rights of Alabamians to make informed healthcare decisions.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to discuss this matter further if needed.
