The furry fandom is a creative, fan-driven community — no different in nature from Star Trek conventions or cosplay gatherings — and any legislation or policy that singles it out for restriction or ridicule is discriminatory and should be rejected outright. This community skews heavily LGBTQ+, and targeting it while leaving comparable fandoms untouched is textbook selective enforcement rooted in bias. Furries gather, create art, wear costumes, and build community. That's it. The moral panic framing their hobby as dangerous or deviant has no factual basis and exists almost entirely to demean a queer-majority group under the cover of culture war politics. Lawmakers who participate in or enable that framing are not protecting anyone — they are punching down at a marginalized community for political points. Stand against any measure that discriminates against the furry community. If you wouldn't regulate a Star Trek convention, you have no principled basis for regulating this. Your LGBTQ+ constituents are watching how you respond to bad-faith attacks on communities like theirs.
