The Semiquincentennial belongs to the Constitution and to the American people as a whole—not to campaign consultants, political insiders, or any single administration. Transforming a shared civic landmark into a venue for personal political marketing sets a dangerous precedent that undermines the core principles of our republic. This is not a partisan issue; it is a constitutional one. Members of Congress from all parties have a duty to protect our shared civic traditions from being absorbed into a campaign brand. I demand that you use your voice, your oversight authority, and the power of the purse to enforce strict boundaries: 1. Defend Historical Precedent: Publicly declare that national celebrations must remain strictly non-partisan, free from campaign rhetoric, personal branding, and political loyalty displays. 2. Block the Partisan Use of Public Resources: Enforce absolute separation between official federal events and political campaigns. Ensure no taxpayer funds, federal property, or military resources are used as props for a campaign production. 3. Protect Civil Institutions: Safeguard career federal staff, law enforcement, and the National Park Service from being pressured into executing a partisan spectacle under the guise of an official national holiday. Our national heritage is public property, not a backdrop for an executive brand. I urge you to uphold your oath to the Constitution by demanding that our nation's 250th birthday remains dedicated entirely to the country as a whole.
