A week ago an immigrant —an asylum seeker with a 5 year work permit— was picked up in Oakmont, PA in front of his 8-year old daughter. Today I read about another: "Maklim Gomez Escalante, an asylum seeker with a legal work permit, was detained by ICE at a district court hearing in Brentwood PA. Late last month. He was transferred to a detention center in Clearfield County, but as of this week, his wife cannot locate him.” You KNOW these two men are the tip of the iceberg. How many thousands of legal, asylum seekers have been detained? Can they even be found? What about their rights? They say they are taking the ‘worst of the worst’. But this is CLEARLY not the case. The Trump regime does NOT respect the law. Miller’s determination to deport thousands of people a months (to fulfill his personal, racist dreams) betrays our country’s ethics and moral code. They are intentionally cruel and secretive. This is America at its worst. Congress MUST claim their role of oversight and reign in this administration.
