An Open Letter

To: Rep. Pingree, Sen. Collins, Sen. King

From: A constituent in Damariscotta, ME

Without actually investigating and prosecuting those named in the Epstein files, we are a country whose government sanctions rape and sex trafficking. This pro-rape culture has been dominant in the USA for years. CNN just revealed the rape academy where over 62 million views happened in ONE MONTH. And what is being done to investigate and prosecute the people perpetrating drugging and rape of women and then posting the content for others to view for their perverted carnal pleasure. Stop being beholden to those in the government and business who uphold and enjoy rape culture. 1. Get the Epstein files fully released. 2. Put pressure on the justice department and FBI to actually do their job! 3. Change the laws around sentencing for sexual assault and rape to jail time that accurately reflects the destruction these crimes bring to the survivors. 4. Legislate money to organizations that actually support victims of rape, molestation, human trafficking like local rape crisis centers. Do your job that you accepted when you entered your position in the US government. Stand up to the abusers and take away their power over others. Protect the people, not the predators.
