Why is Congress allowing the President of the United States to openly defy the Constitution?
Under Article I of the Constitution, the power to declare war belongs to Congress—not the president. Yet Donald Trump has launched the United States into a war with Iran without a vote, without authorization, and without the consent of the American people through their elected representatives.
Americans are now dying in a conflict that Congress never approved.
At the same time, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has publicly stated that the United States intends to “play dirty” in this war—an alarming statement that raises serious concerns about potential violations of international law and the laws of armed conflict.
And while American service members are being sent into harm’s way, the Commander in Chief, Donald Trump, appears more focused on spending his time on the golf course than explaining to the American people why this war was started in the first place.
This is unacceptable.
Congress has a constitutional duty to check executive power—especially when American lives are at stake. Your silence in the face of an unauthorized war is not neutrality. It is permission.
I am demanding that Congress act immediately:
• Hold emergency hearings on the legality of this war.
• Enforce the War Powers Resolution.
• Require the administration to justify its actions publicly.
• Vote on whether this war is authorized—immediately.
If Congress refuses to act, then you are allowing a president to take the nation to war alone. That is exactly what the Constitution was written to prevent.
The American people deserve answers. Our troops deserve accountability. And Congress must uphold the Constitution you swore to defend.
Why are you allowing this to happen?
