I am a constituent writing on an exciting day. Voters across the country have pushed back against the direction Donald Trump and the Republican Party have taken this nation, and I want to thank you for your service and for the work you have done and will continue to do. Now is the time to act. For too long, Americans have suffered under a government that does not serve our interests. I urge you to get to work immediately with your Democratic colleagues on two priorities: 1 Overturn Citizens United. Please support and actively advance a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United v. FEC, and pass the DISCLOSE Act in the meantime so voters can see who is funding our elections. 2 Tax the ultra wealthy. Make the richest Americans pay their fair share so we can invest in the people this economy has left behind. These two steps address both the affordability crisis and the crisis of democracy we face right now. I ask that you make them a priority from day one and let me know where you stand
