Stop the MEGA Act – Defend Our Democracy

To: Sen. Duckworth, Rep. Ramirez, Sen. Durbin

From: A constituent in Chicago, IL

January 30

We are deeply concerned about the MEGA Act and what it means for our democracy. If we start making it harder for people to vote, then we’re no longer protecting elections — we’re limiting who gets a voice. Requiring more documentation, purging voter rolls more often, and restricting mail-in voting doesn’t make elections safer. It just makes it easier for eligible people to be shut out. Voting is one of the most basic rights we have. Once that’s chipped away, everything else is at risk. True democracy means accessible voting. Please oppose the MEGA Act and any legislation that makes it harder for Americans to vote. Our democracy only works when everyone can participate.
