The Republican proposed spending bill has a clause that would prevent any regulation on AI for the next ten years. Please don’t let this happen. The developments in this field are happening at lightning speed and unchecked by any oversight and our government unable to intervene with any legislation leaves the citizenry with even fewer rights to privacy. This is akin to how we cannot look at gun violence as a public health matter because the gun lobby successfully made it against the law. That has not protected Americans. It has only protected profits for a select few.
