Revoke Trump's Graham Act Sanctions Waiver on Russia

To: Rep. Kustoff, Sen. Blackburn, Sen. Hagerty

From: A constituent in Brownsville, TN

October 17

Revoke Trump's waiver of the Graham Act sanctions on Russia. The Senate passed this law 86-11. Waiving it a month after signing it is not diplomacy. It is capitulation to a country actively bombing civilian infrastructure in Ukraine. The White House claims enforcing sanctions would interfere with peace negotiations. But Trump has spent the same week letting Russia sell diesel internationally, threatening Ukraine's access to Starlink, and publicly denying Russian involvement in the Iran war. That is not a peace strategy. As Sen. Thom Tillis put it, "It's unconscionable that this administration is capitulating to a Russian dictator who illegally invaded Ukraine and butchers innocent civilians every single day." He is right. Congress passed the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act with overwhelming bipartisan support. That intent must be enforced. Push back on this waiver and demand the administration implement the law as written.
