Tax Corporations to Fund Texas Road Infrastructure

To: Lt. Gov. Patrick, Rep. Paul, Sen. Middleton, Gov. Abbott

From: A constituent in Houston, TX

October 12

Texas roads are crumbling, and working families are footing the bill through vehicle damage, wasted fuel, and higher insurance costs. It's time to make corporations pay their fair share to fix them. I want you to champion a corporate tax measure dedicated specifically to road infrastructure funding in Texas. Large corporations depend on our roads to move goods, reach customers, and turn profits. Right now, that burden falls almost entirely on individual taxpayers and drivers. A targeted corporate tax for infrastructure is not a radical idea — it's a straightforward way to align who benefits with who pays. Push for this in the legislature and make it happen.
