I am writing today to ask that you oppose LR24CA the winner take all amendment. I have always been proud of Nebraska for being brave enough , and proud enough to do things a little differently. We have our own state educational standards. We have a different form of state government. We have a different way of choosing our electors. This bill seeks to erode that uniqueness that is Nebraska. We stand out as a community in our presidential elections not because of our size or the number of electoral college votes we have, but because we are uniquely represented in how those votes are distributed. Our distribution of the votes gives a voice to more of our Nebraska citizens. Everyone truly has a voice if they are voting. I’m asking you to protect those voices. Protect our unique Nebraska identity and vote against LR24CA. If this amendment passes, some Nebraska voices will be silenced. We will erode our unique identity as a state. And we will lose power as a state because we will be capitulating to power that seeks to only enrich itself, not the people of Nebraska. Thank you for your time and consideration.
